UK couples spent an average of £20,604 on their wedding in 2026, according to Bridebook's survey of around 7,000 couples, and Bridebook found that flowers and décor take about 7% of a typical budget. On that average, 7% comes to roughly £1,440. Hitched's own survey of 2,020 newlyweds put the average wedding a little higher, at £21,990.
For styling and prop hire on its own, our three wedding collections cost £500, £1,000 and £1,500, and each one is a fixed price for the collection rather than a price per guest. So a sensible starting budget for styling is somewhere between £500 and £1,500, depending on how many statement pieces you want. Below we break down what UK couples spend, where styling sits in that spend, and exactly what each of our collections includes.
What UK couples spend on a wedding
Two large surveys are worth knowing about, and they measure slightly different groups of couples.
Bridebook's 2026 UK Wedding Report puts the average wedding at £20,604, not counting the honeymoon or engagement ring. It works that out at around £278 per guest, and found that the average ceremony has around 74 guests.
Hitched's National Wedding Survey puts the average at £21,990, with an average spend per head of £272, up 4% on 2024. It also found that 56% of newlyweds spent more than their original budget.
The two figures sit within about £1,400 of each other, which gives a fair picture of a typical UK wedding. Your own costs depend far more on your venue, your guest list and where you live than on either average.
Where styling and props fit in the budget
Bridebook breaks the budget down by category. Venue hire and catering take the biggest share at 51%, followed by wedding attire at 19% and photography and videography at 10%. Flowers and décor take 7%, entertainment another 7%, and other suppliers and extras 6%.
It also gives average spends for individual suppliers. Couples spent an average of £1,404 on décor, £1,187 on a florist and £844 on entertainment. Those marrying in a marquee or tipi spent an average of £4,633 on the structure itself, which is worth knowing early, because an empty marquee needs all of its styling brought in.
Styling and prop hire usually sits across two of those lines. A prosecco wall, a welcome sign and LED letters are décor. A magic mirror photo booth or an audio guest book is closer to entertainment, because guests use it rather than just look at it.

What is included and what is not
A price only means something once you know what sits inside it, so here is what comes with ours.
- Glass hire is included with the prosecco wall. Any breakages are chargeable.
- Alcohol is not included. It can be arranged separately, and we can offer themed options such as Kir Royales or Mimosas as an optional extra. If you are planning drinks somewhere without a bar, check whether you need a licence to serve prosecco at a wedding or party before the day.
- The audio booth recordings come to you on a USB stick after the wedding. Guests pick up a vintage-style telephone handset and leave a message, with no limit on how many messages are recorded, and a personalised welcome message is optional.
- LED letter hire covers love letters, initials, numbers or custom words, with backdrop and balloon styling available as add-ons.
- Setup and collection are included in the Essential and Celebration Collections, and styling is included in the Celebration Collection. The Signature Luxe Collection comes with custom styling options, so talk to us about exactly what you would like set up.
The magic mirror, when hired on its own, runs for four hours with full setup and breakdown, unlimited online photos through an instant QR code, and a choice of a 200 or 400 print package, with props, backdrops and optional personalised photo templates.
A collection or individual pieces
A collection makes sense when you want several pieces that work together, such as a welcome sign, a seating plan and a prosecco wall that all match. If you only want one statement piece, every item can also be hired on its own.
- LED letters come as standalone letters and numbers, or as a styled setup with placement and décor, and work for indoor and outdoor setups.
- The candy cart can be hired as a prop to stock yourself, filled with sweets, or set up as a hot chocolate bar.
- The doughnut wall comes in a standard or a large size for weddings and bigger celebrations.
- The picture frame is a freestanding frame on a tripod stand, with a QR code option so guests can share their photos.
- The Bloom Bar lets guests make their own mini bouquets, either as props only or fully stocked with flowers priced per stem.
Prices for individual pieces depend on what you choose, so ask us for a quote that matches your list.
Keeping styling inside the budget
With more than half of couples going over their original budget, it helps to fix the styling figure early and work back from it.
- Decide on your statement pieces first. Pick the one or two things guests will remember, then fill in around them.
- Ask what each quote includes. Setup, styling, collection, glass hire and breakages all make a difference to the real cost.
- Check your venue's rules. Ask about access times for setting up, whether outside suppliers are welcome, and whether you can bring your own drinks.
- Think about your non-drinkers. An alcohol-free section on the prosecco wall means every guest can join the toast, and the same drinks that suit a baby shower work at a wedding.
You can see more of our work in the gallery. When you are ready, contact us with your date, venue and the pieces you have in mind, or find Flash of Elegance on Google, and we will put together a quote for your wedding.
